SCAI Lab at UCLA

The Sleep and Circadian Assessment and Intervention (SCAI) Lab at UCLA investigates sleep and circadian disruption in children, adolescents and young adults with Tourette’s disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and anxiety disorders, and biopsychosocial and contextual factors associated with sleep health in adolescents more broadly. Our methods encompass subjective reports, diary, actigraphy, spectrophotometry, and pupillometry. We evaluate the impact of targeted interventions, including novel morning light therapies, experimental therapeutics, and cognitive-behavior therapy on relevant disorder mechanisms, clinical symptoms, and associated functioning. We also offer assessment and treatment for adolescents with sleep disorders and sleep-related problems through our Adolescent Behavioral Sleep Medicine services.
